Sunday, 5th March, was observed as Women’s Sunday with members of the Women’s Fellowship taking lead roles in different parts of the service.
The sermon* was delivered by Mrs. Mercymol Shaji, (Women's Fellowship President) meditating on the theme ,"Women as Change Makers” Mercykochamma mentioned that the Women's Fellowship is built on three pillars viz., prayer, witness and service, which is even more relevant in this Platinum Jubilee Year.
With reference to the incident of Zelophehad’s Daughters (Numbers 27:1) where they claim their rights, it is important that the women of this age:
1) are conscious of their rights
2) should solve problems with courage, and
3) break silence on issues affecting them.
Through the proclamation of Mary in the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) we are reminded of a moral, social and economic transformation of society. “You can tell the condition of a nation by looking at the status of its women,” is a famous quote by Jawaharlal Nehru, emphasizing this. In conclusion, Kochamma wished that all Women's Fellowship members may become agents of change, through the commemoration of Women's Sunday.
Another major highlight of the service was the Medley sung by the Women's fellowship members (ഇതുവരെ എന്നെ കരുതിയ, നിന്നാൽ അസാധ്യമായൊന്നും, ഇതുവരെ പുലർത്തിയ വിധങ്ങളെ) which can be listened here : https://www.csidubai.com/video-gallery
